Helene Glüxam is a double bassist and composer from Vienna. In addition to her work with Kurdophone, she is also a founding member of the quartet “HALM”, which combines avant-garde pop with jazz and free improvisation. Since 2023, she has also been part of the contemporary classical music ensemble “Lizard”. In her solo project, where she is currently working on her debut album, she brings together these diverse musical worlds, utilizing both the double bass and her voice. Her notable performances include appearances with Kurdophone at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Rudolstadt Festival, as well as with HALM at Porgy&Bess, and a solo performance as part of the “wien modern” festival at the Konzerthaus Wien. In early 2023, she successfully completed her master’s studies in jazz double bass under the guidance of Peter Herbert at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz12.
